Engineered for efficiency
At OWA, we have extensive experience in mobile app development, designing and building iOS and Android apps for release through the Apple and Google stores. We also create enterprise apps for organisational use that seamlessly integrate with other systems, including web applications, customer relationship management (CRM) systems and databases.
We primarily work with hybrid and progressive web apps (PWAs) as they provide all the benefits of native development but with reduced cost. This means your app can share the majority of its codebase with a website resulting in less upfront build time and greater efficiency in any future development. Our design and development teams work together from the outset of each project and will help to recommend if the hybrid approach is suitable for you.
We also understand the importance of keeping your app and its integrations safe and secure. If you need to move data to or from a separate application, or create an application programming interface (API), we will ensure latest industry best practice for security and resilience is applied.

Designing the prototype
At OWA, we specialise in designing and building mobile apps that meet the needs of your users. Our developers are involved throughout the design prototyping process to ensure visual and functional elements work together perfectly, and all the latest in-device features are integrated within your app. This approach to design and development ensures functionality and any platform requirements inform the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design right from the outset.
We create wireframes to test and refine layouts of the main screens in your app. The key steps, or user journeys, involved to complete important actions across these help us to validate positioning on the screen and define hierarchies of information ready for design and development.
With an approved framework and any information architecture (IA) work on content structure complete, the project moves into visual design and user testing. Important screens within the mobile app are designed; branding, palette and typography are applied. The resulting concepts are presented as a clickable prototype that may be tested and refined as a minimum viable product (MVP), a proof of concept (POC) or as part of a more linear development project, readying the finalised approach for build.

Support & protection
OWA offers ongoing technical support for all the mobile apps we develop, starting with an inclusive 12-month warranty against any bugs or errors. We also provide ongoing technical support for your legacy systems and third-party mobile apps, subject to the necessary checks.
Support can be combined with a hosting arrangement at our independent, fully managed UK-based data centres, providing a single, joined-up service for your mobile app.
Knowing exactly where your data is stored geographically is important. Our hosting facility locations are ISO 27001 Information Security Management-certified, meaning your data is fully protected by UK law and is GDPR compliant.
Powering your services
OWA has been developing, hosting and supporting secure enterprise applications and digital products since 1995.
All OWA builds are standalone or can sit within a suite of integrated technologies complementing each other seamlessly, ensuring your data, services and content appear exactly where they are needed.
Our support and hosting services are fully managed in-house and reflect our proactive approach to security, performance and stability. Both support and hosting issues are monitored and can be reported and tracked by our clients 24/7 using our online client portal.
